Designing and producing hand crafted furniture by its very nature should be done in a peaceful and beautiful rural location nowhere could it be better for Philip than his Yorkshire Dales location of Reeth.
Reeth, about 20 minutes drive from Richmond, is a popular and distinctive village, situated at the joining of the rivers Swale and Arckle beck in the heart of the Swaledale valley, it is a landscape rich in history with spectacular summer meadows in summer and the purple heather in autumn, high on the moor tops, is undoubtedly one of the finest jewels in the crown of the Yorkshire dales National Park.
The village buildings surround a wide village green with its traditional cobbled market place which still takes place every Friday it has a fine collection of tea shops, pubs and B and B's, from Reeth there are many varied walks, along river sides or fell tops and with all this surrounding beauty, Reeth is fast becoming the crafts centre of Swaledale, with numerous crafts people in residence.
